I took Evan...

to get a "big boy" haircut this afternoon. When we got there he wouldn't talk to the lady that was going to cut it. She told him that she knew his grandma; then he was extra chatty, even showed her his Lightnin McQueen underwear.
In the chair next to us was a teenage girl getting pink highlights and dad started wanting to stop the clock. Wanted to just grab him out of the chair, pay the lady and tell her we'd be back for that "big boy" haircut in a couple of years.
But, the haircut is not too bad.

It hasn't bothered him too much, but, in the mirror while brushing his teeth he said " Mom, why do I look different?"

The fields were also free...

so Evan wanted to run the bases..He stood on home plate and said " you say, on your mark, get set, go" So I did....
.........and he ran as fast as he could to 3rd base.

Sunday afternoon...

"just us boys" went to the ball field ,where the roller hockey rink is, and Evan got to try out his "over the shoes skates" that Grandma got him. We had the place to ourselves and it was a very nice 80 degrees out. He didn't skate to long, but was pretty good at it when he had little brother to help him out.

Henry sorta crawling,,,Evan sorta skating

This morning we made "wop" cinammon rolls

We passed a fire truck...

in town today and Evan said "maybe that's Keaton's dad(a kid on T-ball team's dad is a fireman). Then he said "Keaton's dad is cool". I said " cooler than me?"........"yea".

Hank taking a bath in the sink.

We went fishing at Grandaddy's...

and caught one little fish and one big fish. Mostly we just played with crickets and ate M&M's.

Evan and Kaylin went....

to Little Rock to see Dora the Explorer Live and stayed in a hotel with Grandma and Grandaddy.

Evan got out of bed

and right away put on his hat and "cowboy" belt. We made cinnamon toast pizzas for breakfast.

Mom is out of town....

for a 3 day girls weekend, so it is "just us boys". Well, just us boys and Grandma(we gotta eat). I had to convince Evan that Grandaddy doesn't sleep in his hat.

Just couldn't help...

but post this terrible pick of Henry....It's bad. He looks like Rodney Dangerfield...."Hey, you scratched my anchor!"

Grandma and Grandaddy...

got Evan a "cowboy shirt" from Tractor & Supply(his favorite store). He said " I need my sunglasses, that's what real cowboys wear". I said,"that depends on what you think a real cowboy is".

Evan got really..

sweaty fishing, and when it was time to eat, he wanted me to dry his hair with the blow dryer(just an excuse to not stop playing). We made a compromise and Henry and I got to have dinner with Sheik Ali Dishtowel.

Just your typical...

Monday afternoon campout in the living room.

Evan and Dad got matching

big and little fishing poles. We tied on some washers and have been practicing in the yard. If his shorts look a little puffy, it's because he is wearing 5 pairs of underwear. Last night Mom took him to the mall(Walmart) and let him pick out his own new underwear. He liked them so much....well he's got them ALL on.
After all the rain we got today the ditch behind the house was pretty full and Evan wanted to give it a try, but the 20 yards was too far to walk so we had to load up the gator(but when you're fishing with washers in a drainage ditch, might as well have fun getting there)

Henry is getting

very close to crawling. He gets very frustrated when he can't reach something, mostly Sadie's tail(when he does start crawling, he will annoy sadie, bad).

Josh and William Harris

having a some chicken salad after a long day on the lake.

Kinda boring,

but Henry really loves this swing.

Denver

We have been having a great time this weekend in Denver. Evan and Katie felt so special all weekend because they got to be only children again for a short time with their moms and aunts! We got to spend lots of time with family! The wedding was beautiful and all of the festivities were so much fun! Here we are on the plane on the way to Denver. We had toys, movies, books, snacks - everything I could think of to keep him occupied for 2 1/2 hours!
Friday morning we had brunch at the Smith's home (thanks again Merrill!). Here are Katie & Allie riding bikes on the sidewalk. Evan, Katie, Allie, Charlotte & Sutton had a great time together. It was great to see Lem & Merrill and Betsy & Jeff.

Our cousin Eric and his wife, Kim - parents of Eli (below).

Evan and 2nd cousin Eli (who is so adorable!) playing before the wedding with his new Mack - a gift from the bride!

The beautiful bride, Dana, and her mom, Aunt Cindy.

Precious flower girl and ring bearer right before walking down the aisle and outside the chapel after the ceremony.
My favorite part of the wedding - Dana and Mike left the altar under an arch of swords - they last two lowered their swords for Dana and Mike to kiss before they let them pass!

Captain and Mrs. Mike Alfaro - Congratulations! Lots of cousins having fun on the dance floor.Evan wore himself out dancing - here he was right before we left.

Uncle Sam & Aunt Cindy hosted a cookout at their house on Saturday. All the kids got to ride the horse and they had a great time playing!

Enjoy Evan's dance moves in this video. He really gets into about 40 seconds into the video.

One year ago today....

I had my surgery. It is hard to imagine that I was only 17 weeks pregnant at the time with our sweet Henry. Thinking back on that time makes me remember how afraid we were but at the same time the peace that I had going into the surgery. Having our Henry here now is amazing - we cannot imagine life without him! He truly does complete our family. I wanted to take this time to thank everyone again for all of their support and more importantly for all of the prayers back then. We are blessed by God to have our health and our family!

It's not that bathtime...

isn't always fun and easy,,,but tonight was more fun than some we've had. I hope that Henry always thinks that his big brother is that funny.

His future's so bright...

There is usually not much...

to see on my drive to work. This guy just waved at the cop in the background and rolled on.. I love this tree around the power lines on Hwy 49.

Evan says...

"maybe Henry wants a teasin bisquit"..It is fun to watch him eat the the 'teething' crackers and stuff. Evan also says "he wishes he had teeth, so he could share my chicken nuggets".

Tonight Evan said...

Josh, I need a snack. I said if you're gonna call me Josh, then I'm gonna call you Alexander. He said" dad, that's what they call me at the doctor".
