In an attempt to score some

points with Mom,we cleaned out the fish tank. Put the fish(his name changes daily) in a pint glass and washed the tank out in the sink. A long, long time ago before we were married, Natalie was doing the exact same thing in Jackson(it was probably a tea glass) and her fish jumped out and into the sink and down into the disposal.
She called screaming and crying"blah, blah, fish, blah, blah, disposal".Long story short, with cold drink in hand in Hernando, I talked her through an elaborate rescue that involved the vacuume cleaner and a pair of panty hose. The fish was saved and the writer's of the TV show McGyver want the rights to my story.

Just us boys

had the kitchen to ourselves this morning and made homemade buscuits, then ate cinnamon rolls from a can.

Rainy Saturday-Lunch by Dad;

Cornbread for Hank.
Pizza on the couch for Stump.
Let the cleaning lady deal with the aftermath.

Thanks Shady.

One night this week

Evan and I made Mom some brownies.
There wasn't much to put in the pan when we were done making the batter.

Henry has really

Really started to hate this gate.

And I guess I'm a terrible Dad for just sitting on the other side and taking pics but,,it gets pretty boring around here(sometimes).

It's just us boy's tonight

so we went camping in the living room to honor King Biscuit Blues fest. For dessert we had trail mix made out of Cocoa Puffs and peanuts.(Henry got a bottle)
And it was an extra special treat for Dad to get to camp with a couple of the bad guys from Karate Kid.

There is a commercial that

comes on during Evan's favorite show(Busytown) for a Touch and Brush. He thinks it's awesome.
He's probably going to get one for his birthday, because every night he says "dad, you pretend to be the touch and brush!"

Happy Birthday to us!

We just got asked to be Grand Marshalls in the parade!!!!!

The weather was great again today..

so Evan and I went on a bike ride and half way around he said"Dad,this bike doesn't go uphill,,we need to go get my gator",(which was fine with me, because the cooler weather didn't magically make me in shape enough to go all the way around the neighborhood).
We also played a computer game out in in shop over a couple of Capri Sun's. I noticed that he is wearing this T-ball shirt in like 75% of the pics on this blog..I didn't just take a bunch of pics one day to use throughout the year ,,he just puts it on every chance he gets. It's hard to believe that all he really wanted to do during T-ball was play in the dirt.

Mom took Evan to see...

Disney on Ice and he had a great time with his buddies that went with them. She didn't get any pics,,,so here is one of Henry hanging out on the porch since we didn't get/have to go.

It was 70 degrees when dad

picked Evan up at school,,so we got him a McDonald's and had lunch (just us big boys) on the patio at the Mexican restaurant.

We went to the

Midsouth'aven fair and the only ride that Henry went on was in the stroller with Dad to get a cheesesteak.
But, Evan ate pizza.
drove a police car,

and jumped really high on a trampoline.

Henry.....

is easily entertained....

(I know playing with Dad's shoes is probably not the cleanest thing but whatever ladies)....until he gets stuck standing up and doesn't know how to get down!

This afternoon......

The boys and I took a ride in the country in the dune buggy.

Found some old pics....

Tony buying worms from a vending machine in Helena,AR.
And one of Evan on the boat with Sadie.

Last night at bedtime...

Evan said that he wanted Mom to read his story. Mom was tired and asked if Dad could do the story and he "no, I want you to read it". When asked why, he said "because Dad doesn't say all the words". (Dad occasionally does the Cliff's Notes if it's more than a ten-pager). So Mom obliged and Dad fixed his supper. After he finished his Hot-Pocket, Dad went to say goodnight and found this.

Henry's not walking yet...

but he sure does seem to be all over the place these days. He's pretty proud of those two teeth too!

This past weekend...

..Mom and Dad went to a very fancy wedding way out of town.(West Virginia).
And the boys stayed at Grandma's(Evan says that Grandaddy lives at Grandma's house). They went to the zoo one afternoon to see the birds.

I am not sure..

..if Disney World could compare to driving a backhoe in Grandaddy's backyard.

We got a new fan..

..and Dad had plenty of "help" putting it up.

Bedtime / Suppertime

They may not have the best table manners, but it's never boring having dinner with these two.

This afternoon we took the boys to...

the Memphis Botanical Gardens..There is a new section called "My Big Backyard" and it was very impressive. There is a tin-roofed section with thunder and rain.
There are things for little brothers to do.
There is a creek that you can walk in(next time we will take a change of clothes,,because the term "just get your feet wet" doesn't translate into 'Evan').

There are some great big Lincoln Logs.

And there are some really cool tree houses that aren't as much fun for little brothers.

Saturday, Adam was by the

house and Evan asked him when he was going to take the top off that dune-buggy. So he did...
And let us borrow it for the afternoon,,Henry got to have his 1st ride and we took Sadie too.
Henry really enjoyed the breeze in his little bit of hair.

Batman woke up...

very early Saturday morning and wouldn't go back to sleep. Here he is having a chocolate donut at the "mall" in Helena at 7:00 A.M. No rest for dad.

Thursday, August 13, 2009

We don't just go to the

Mall(Walmart),,sometimes we get dressed up and go to Sam's. The boys love the big baskets.

Evan can't wait

for Halloween,,,so he just wears his Lightnin' McQueen race suit around the house. It has a battery pack and makes a really loud engine sound,,,so he doesn't even have to be in same room for you to enjoy it.
