Mom took Henry for his 1st haircut.

He was very good and sat very still.
Same day, Dad took Evan for a haircut and had a very different experience. Notice that his hair is not cut on the sides. That is because he thought she was going to cut his ears off. We had to take him back the next day to get that part cut. Dad thinks about having his own ears cut off sometimes.

Wishing for summer

With Josh and Tatum Brown - just one of the boys.

Being silly for the camera.

I'm going through our pictures and editing, organizing, cataloging, archiving, printing, etc... It takes a while when you take about 500 pictures a month. Sometimes I wish we were still using film - we wouldn't have so many. Then again, that would be bad because we wouldn't have so many. Right now I am working on printing a photo book for 2007. I came across some pictures taken at Moon Lake that summer. I just love these pictures because Evan was wanting to be such a big boy. Here he is 21 months old. It is fun to see because Henry will be that age this summer!

Dad and Evan went to

"Bull Mania" yesterday and it was a neat way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Evan was much more interested in the tractors on display and the free brochures than the bulls.

Just a couple of pics

of the boys(again in their PJ's)

This is an example of

some of Dad's grade A parenting when it's "just us boys".
and if anybody actually cared how long ago we got married,,I don't really know, I only know that it seems like yesterday..... (you might think that heart-felt romantic statements like that would score me some points,,,,they don't).

I have a correction...

some of you were wondering about Josh's post that we have been married for 9 years. You know he exaggerates! It has been 7 years. We were married in 2003.

Our 9th anniversary is Monday

so I am taking Natalie to a very romantic destination for dinner,,,,Clarksdale.

Saturday night

Mom had a Mrs. America party.(they had cupcakes)
Dad and Evan had to leave the house, so we spent the night with Grandaddy and made S'mores.

This is the way that Evan

watches his TV show every night before bed. He never seems as comfortable as Sadie.

We got a little ice last week.

No snow, just ice, so not much fun for us boys.

Henry loves

to dump the toys out and sit in this basket.
This is his favorite cabinet.

Got the scanner out

and scanned in some old pics I found.
When Mom saw this, she said wow! look how young Sadie looks! (It's good to hear that Sadie is the only one of us aging).

More scans

Me in a field.
this is me and Chris Chew in 1990.
if you look close you can see Natalie fishing.

(not)Travelin' light.

Evan needs lots of stuff to spend just one night away from home with Dad, mostly trucks and tractors.

Eating Pizza

and watching the Duke Boys. Have you noticed that Evan has on his pajamas in every picture. It's like living with Hugh Hefner.(not even close)

Mom and Evan made cookies this morning

Evan loves to help in the kitchen especially when we are making chocolate chip cookies.. He even knows the difference between my Kitchenaid mixer and my hand mixer - he prefers the Kitchenaid! He just thinks that the hand mixer is so loud, he needs the headphones that he wore to the Monster Truck show! As soon as I got the mixer out, he ran to his room for the headphones!

You may have to

turn it up to hear, this is Evan all alone up in the playroom singing Jesus Loves Me.

It was just like Sissy

in that scene from Urban Cowboy.

This morning just us boys

made muffins for breakfast.
There seems to be lots of pictures of just us boys cooking.(I promise Dad will teach them to hunt and stuff too). Actually, Dad will get an uncle to do the hunting, but he already takes them fishing plenty.

We were watching

Walk the Line this morning and Evan said the guy in the crowd dancing kinda goofy in a suit looked familiar.???

Just Dad and Henry

at home tonight. Eating chips and watching TV.
We have so much in common.

Dad traded a....

fishing boat for a mini ski boat
that Evan is helping clean up(too bad Dad doesn't know anymore than Evan does about outboard motors).

Just us big boys

went to the monster truck show last night.
It was VERY loud.
Evan loved it,,said that his favorite part was when one broke down and had to be towed.
When we left(early) we drove around back and watched them drive in and out of the building for a while.
It was one heck of a potty!!!

Henry loves...

hats
and spaghetti.

Dancing Boys

This morning I downloaded some songs from Evan's new favorite show - Imagination Movers. He really loves the theme song! Here he is dancing to it in the kitchen.

Henry's favorite song is on this toy. He just stands up and pushes on of the buttons and music plays. This toy used to scare Evan when he was Henry's age!

Now together having what Evan calls a Dance Party in his room! One of Evan's favorite things to do. This is the song that plays at the end of the Imagination Movers show.

Snow Day

Evan and I went out in the snow for about 15 minutes on Thursday morning. We probably spent more time getting dressed than actually playing in it. All he wanted to do was to make snow angels and throw snowballs. Luckily we had enough accumulation on the trampoline to make both of those things happen!

Evan throwing a snowball

Mom took Evan

to the library the other day and they came home with this book. I don't think that Evan picked it out??

This is video of our friend Aaron,

it inspired me to dust off my old banjo how-to video(that's as far as I got).He is a budding mandolin player, father to be, and regular visitor of this blog.

I don't know why, but this video makes me smile.
