Congratulations Adam!!

Adam is now officially a student at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.  Congratulations!

Big Boy Bed

Evan moved into his big boy bed on Monday. He has done fairly well with the adjustment - but it is definitely an adjustment! He thinks it is pretty cool that he can get in and out as he pleases.

When Evan Grows Up

Yesterday morning Josh and I asked Evan what he wanted to be when he grew up. He thought about it for a minute and said "Big! I wanna be big!". Sure, you can be big. What will you do when you are big? "Play with big toys!" (Isn't that what all grown up boys want to do??). Okay - what kind of big toys will you play with? "Ummm, monster trucks!!" (He sounds just like his dad!)

Prom '96

I got this picture emailed today. Hilarious! This was taken right before we all went to the Jackson Academy Prom back in 1996. Hard to believe that was 12 years ago!

Life Insurance DENIED

Josh and I applied for new life insurance policies last month. Josh got his accepted. Mine was REJECTED. Great news for a 30 year-old. ING doesn't think I'll make it for their 20 year term life policy. Thanks ING!

A'Fair in Hernando

Today was the annual A'Fair in Hernando. Evan had a great time -
especially on the moon bounce. It had a slide that he must have gone
down at least 20 times He did NOT want to leave the moon bounce!

Weekend in Jackson

Last weekend we went to Jackson to spend time with Papa, MaeMae, Jill and Mammom. We got there on Friday afternoon and left Saturday evening. Evan had a fun-filled two days! Friday afternoon we visited with Mammom and then fed the ducks at one of the ponds in Dinsmor. Evan LOVES ducks and this was the first time that he was able to get really close to some. They were really tame! They came right up to us as soon as they saw all the bread that we had to give them (thanks Aunt Jill for a great idea). Saturday morning we went to the Jackson Zoo. Evan saw giraffes, leopards, tigers, elephants, zebras, ostriches, gazelles and other animals. We rode the carousel and his favorite thing - the train! He got to snack on popcorn and cotton candy, so it was a great day for him! We went home and took naps and then headed back to Hernando.

My Birthday Party Right Now!!!

Evan has gone to a couple of birthday parties recently and has started talking about HIS birthday party A LOT. I keep telling him that he is almost closer to his past birthday party than his upcoming one, but of course, a 2 year-old does not really understand logic like that. He told his Grandma the other day who all he wanted to invite (all the family and the dogs) and just about mentions his party every day. The other morning Evan woke up around 5:30 am or so. We have a video monitor so we can watch him while he is in bed. He stood up and started yelling "MY BIRTHDAY PARTY RIGHT NOW!". He repeated this several times and then laid back down and went to sleep!

Evan's Adventures in "Momma's Tub"

Last night we decided that it might be fun for Evan to take a bath in "Momma's tub". He was really excited about it and helped Josh carry his soap and shampoo and select toys that he wanted in the tub with him. Josh and I were discussing whether or not Evan would like it if we turned the jets on. The water was almost covering all the jets but it left one exposed. I will have to say that Josh convinced me that the uncovered jet would not be a problem. Well, little Evan got in the tub and Josh turned on the jets. The water shot across the tub and hit Evan and the wall. Poor little guy - he got SO upset! And rightly so. We both had to hug him and calm him down and all he could say was "My bath - my bath". We ran him over to his tub and he calmed down and ended up being okay. He will probably never want to take a bath in my tub again!

Sick week!

Starting last Friday with Evan then me and finally Josh - we all got
to take a turn with temperatures over 101, staying in bed for a day,
doctors visits and prescription medication. Thank goodness we are all
feeling much better!

The Office

The Office returned this week with a new episode (finally!!). We thought it was worth the wait. "The Dinner Party" might be my favorite episode so far. I cannot understand how they can make you feel so uncomfortable and make it funny at the same time. The best part was when Jim tried to make an excuse to leave and was going to leave Pam alone at the party.

So sad

You may not be able to read the sign but it says "Closed due to Fire Reopening Soon". No one was hurt during the fire.

I really need a cupcake

Evan has taken a liking to the Hostess 100 calorie chocolate cupcakes.
After he finished his supper tonight, he looked at me and said "I
really need a cupcake".

Oxford

This weekend was Lain's baby shower in Oxford. We all had a great time! It was at the Downtown Grill which was great! Lain got some awesome gifts! After the shower, we went over to Lain's house to see the nursery - looks so good! - and play with Morris Griner & William Harris - who are both so cute!!
