Adam took the top..

off his 4-Runner(Evan says Dune-Buggy). Evan loves it,,he asked at bedtime if I could borrow the Dune-Buggy to come pick him up from school tomorrow.

For father's day...

Natalie got "US" a very nice new camera. It is very fancy(complicated). It takes wonderful pics. I am going to start reading the manual now and at Evan's medical school graduation I am going to take the best pictures ever!!

On a lighter note

Evan said that the sermon really hit home with him and he was going to go into this week with a whole new outlook. Not too sure what's up with the glittery hearts on the girl's leg behind us.

Today was Henry's baptism and...

everything went great. To start, we made it to church on time(doesn't happen much). Henry was very good during the service. It is strange to think that less than a year ago we weren't sure if we were going to have a Henry or not. Now, I can't imagine our life without him. Everyone was there to support Henry on his big day but Grandaddy. But, we are very happy that Grandaddy is home getting better. I am sure that the first fishing trip will mean lots more to him than Grandadddy seeing him get his head wet in a dress. He is a very sweet baby.

To the Nuns!!

Every night I threaten to take any toys left out to the nuns(the catholic mission). It is surprisingly effective. One night last week, a wheel fell off of a truck and he just looked a me and said "dad,the nuns can have this one".

we are playing in the water in Hernando and wishing it would go away in the delta.

Adam has spent the night here..

for a couple of nights and this morning when Evan woke up he walked through the living room at 6:15 and said "dad,there's Adam's backpack, hey there's Adam on the couch" (very Goldilocks like). then " Hey Adam, let's watch us some Duke boys"

from Grandma and Natalie has been trying to get their picture together with them on. Here is the closest that she has gotten. Both boys saying "hurry up mom, the sun is in our eyes".

2nd T-ball practice I told Evan to go get his glove and he came back with a little John Deere and I said "no,go get your glove". He said "I'm gonna take this tractor instead". "no, go get the glove". " but Daddy, there is really good dirt there". Now, we still haven't played a game, but we got our uniforms just for something to do and he insisted on wearing the hat to bed. And as you know, Dad says whatever...just go to bed.

Whisker Bassick

we have a little wicker basket in the pantry with gummy bears, little debbies, etc.. in it. Evan will say that he is hungry and you ask him what he wants and he'll say"hmmmm maybe something from the whisker bassick.

Henry is eating veggies now

Try saying that 3 times. If you see her don't laugh, I don't want her to get a complex.

All of this rain....

is doing more than keeping us from T-ball. It is flooding the delta.

Shady is shedding...

more than ever this year. The hair is everywhere. Evan and I call the balls of it "Sadie Tumbleweeds" . I know it's gross but this is the vacume cannister from just two uses!!!we are getting her shaved this week.

Grandma got the boys ...

funny glasses. Henry got the monkey ones and unlike Evan , he can't take them off.

Just to kill some time

on a rainy saturday Evan and I drove through a car wash. He loved it.

We also went ...

"pretend" motor -home shopping for an hour and a half. Here is Evan talking on the CB "just like Bandit and the Snowman" in a 490,000 dollar one that we really liked.

Rained out again..

so Evan and I went to Waffle House for breakfast. Please don"t tell him that waffles aren't pancakes, because he loves pancakes but says that he doesn't like waffles. Again Dad doesn't care what you call it,,just eat it. We also don't go anywhere without a couple of trucks and trailers.

On the way to school...

Evan and I saw these guys on our road picking up cans, so I turned around and followed them for a while and we had a long talk about recycling(instead of mule wagons, which I thought would have been his conversation of choice)

Enid Fish Hatchery

First we built sand castles at the swimming areaThen went over to the hatchery to see the breeding tanks,

Then we went to the aquarium that he thought was very interesting.

Turtle

Tony left his wheeler at the house for a while and now he's Evan's hero. We were riding it last weekend and found a turtle the size of a silver dollar(that sweet,sweet Georgia Brown put in her mouth, yes the whole turtle) But at least that didnt happen on my watch while the moms were at dinner and I was being the best "Manny" in the delta.

Evan doesn't say spaghetti, he says long pasta. Dad doesnt care what its called just have a seat and eat some supper.

Rained out

Saturday Evan was supposed thave his first T-ball game. When he got up Saturday morning mom was leaving and he asked where she was goin. I said she is going to get her hair colored and he said"is she going to color it green? that's her favorite color." I told him they were just going to color it the same and he said "oh, yellow". Well the game got rained and and when I told him he started crying and said that mom had his water jug ready and everything. So he and I spent all morning in that garage drinking from the jug and playing with tractors.

Evan talking about Easter

Here are two videos of Evan talking about Easter. One was the day before while we were dyeing (sp??) eggs and then Easter morning after he had found his basket. He started off by saying that dogs can't eat chocolate then he said that Henry couldn't eat chocolate. Sadie joined Evan in the egg hunt.

Since henry was born there has been a whole lot of Dad-Evan time,because Mom is feeding Henry . Lincoln Logs in the shop and spending the night at the lake. This afternoon Mom took Evan to a party at Chuck-E-Cheese and Dad stayed home with Henry. Very relaxing,,notice Uncle Adam helping in background.

Pet Fish

Evan got a fish from Grandma & Grandaddy on Friday. Since then the fish's name has been Dog, Stump, Goldy and Chair.

Natalie went to Ashley's Saturday;Evan looked over at me on the couch and said" Daddy, its just us boys eating chips".  we made a boat out of a box that mom later told "us boys" that she was planning on returning something in. 

last night I put a handfull of sunflower seeds in my mouth and evan said "what ya eat'n?" I said sunflower seeds,,"silly dad, you're supposed to plant sunflower seeds"  yes, then what?,,,"you water them",,then what? "you pick them" then what? "you give them to mommy"

OLD PIC(but needed one for story)

(it's josh)Yesterday I was taking Evan to school and we got behind a fire truck. He said "catch'em Dad, where are they goin?"  So, since we were early (as always when dad takes him) we followed the fire truck to a house not far from school.  We circled the block and there was an ambulance there too.  He said "how did the ambulance get there?"  Somebody must have called 911.  "what's 911"  911 is what you call when you need help.  "Why?"  I don't know, that's just who you call when you need help.  He just sat there for a minute then said "I'd call Grandaddy"  I said, huh?......he said.."if I need help I call my Grandaddy"
